'Be a fan': Special Olympics Georgia State Summer Games this weekend
EMORY, Ga. -- Special Olympics of Georgia (SOGA) will host its annual State Summer Games for more than 2,000 athletes and coaches this weekend at Emory University.
Athletes will compete in aquatic events, flag football, soccer, badminton, volleyball, tennis, gymnastics and more, with medals awarded throughout the events.
"It is great to see the athletes have the perfect opportunity to shine at Summer Games," said SOGA CEO Georgia Milton-Sheats. "The athletes have worked very hard leading up to this weekend and will be so excited."
A Law Enforcement Torch Run press conference will be held at the State Capitol at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 20.
