ATLANTA – There are tons of fun events going on this weekend, in your area. We’ve listed a few of them for you to check out with your family and friends.

Wind down at Fernbank’s Martinis and IMAX event on Friday, April 22. This weekly event usually draws a healthy sized crowd. Most cocktails are about $8 each and tickets to each actual IMAX movie are about $12. Come join Atlanta’s cosmopolitan crowd at this event.

Swim with the Georgia Aquarium’s resident whale shark on Friday, April 22 at 4:30 p.m. Guests will be able to swim at the surface, with an air supply. The aquarium will provide a mask, air, booties and a wetsuit. All of this comes with a $224.95 price tag, talk about a nice Earth Day gift.

Arguably the best center in the NBA, the Orlando Magic’s Dwight Howard journeys home to Atlanta for game three of the NBA Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.  Watch as childhood competitors, Howard and Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith duke it out at the Highland Factory. This is the Hawks first home game of the series and the home team fans will be showing up tonight. Although the game is sold out it will be screened at almost every bar in the city and on ESPN2.

Castleberry Hill residents can come out to the Railside Dog Park on Saturday for coffee and pet photos with Councilman Kwanza Hall at 9:30 a.m. Your furry friend will be able to participate in an Easter Egg Hunt and a Fancy Bonnet Contest starting at 10:30 a.m. Come out and get some great pictures with your pet.

On Saturday, April 23 participate in an organic gardening class at the Truly Living Well O4W Community Garden. This $50 class will provide participants with an overview of natural and organic urban agricultural methods. The class will cover: soil prep, composting, vermiculture, seasonality, planting, weeding and disease control. The urban garden is located at 75 Hillard Street.
