ATLANTA -- Special Olympics Georgia's State Summer Games will be held this weekend at Emory University.

More than 1,800 athletes and coaches from across Georgia will compete in a number of events, including flag football, gymnastics, soccer, tennis and volleyball.

"We look forward to the summer games weekend at Emory University and are excited for the arrival of all the athletes, coaches and volunteers," Special Olympics Georgia CEO Georgia Milton-Sheats said in a statement. "We know there will be tough competition, but the athletes have trained hard and will do their personal best."

The games are open to the public and free to attend. Learn more at specialolympicsga.org.
