Chipotle offers BOGO special for teachers

ATLANTA -- Chipotle Mexican Grill is celebrating Teacher Appreciation Day by offering buy-one-get-one menu items for educators.

On Tuesday, May 7, a teacher who shows a valid school ID at any U.S. Chipotle restaurant will receive a free burrito, burrito bowl, salad or order of tacos when they buy another menu item.

The promotion is available from 4 p.m. to close.

"We are changing the way people think about and eat fast food. This means going beyond our commitment to better food from more sustainable ingredients and working hard to engrain our restaurants in the communities that they serve," Chipotle communications director Chris Arnold said in a statement. "Connecting with educators and other key community groups is part of who we are, and we're always happy when our work makes an impact upon the communities where we operate."

Exploring Atlanta's gastropub scene

Exploring Atlanta's gastropub scene

ATLANTA - The term "gastropub" was coined in the UK in the 90s, marrying the terms "gastronomy" and "pub" (or "publick house" for you completists). The idea was geared toward freshening traditional pub food and creating cuisine that was more adventurist and creative, but that was not unattainable.

In Atlanta, gastropubs have surfaced and crafted a niche for themselves that have attracted some of the world's elite chefs. New gastropubs are showing up with regularity across the area, but if you want to cut your teeth, here's a selection of some of Atlanta's gastropubs.

EMORY, Ga. -- Atlanta's Emory Point has a new dining spot as Bonefish Grill opened its doors last night at 1540 Avenue Place, Suite B-240.  The ZAGAT award-winning, polished casual restaurant brings its wood-grilled fish, seafood and chops, sauces and indulgent desserts to Emory residents.  Bonefish couples food with a welcoming bar that features an array of cocktails, extensive craft beer selections, and an adventurous wine list.

To celebrate its opening with the local community, Bonefish Grill selected Friends of Music at Emory as a charity beneficiary and donated $5,000 to the organization.  Friends of Music board members, donors and Emory neighbors were invited to a special Grand Opening event on Dec. 8 to enjoy a sampling of the new restaurant's fresh seafood, cocktails, and ambiance.  The evening raised an additional $3,800 for Friends of Music at Emory through a silent auction and the generosity of donors in attendance.
