Authorities Search for Victims of Possible Serial Rapist

DALLAS, GA -- A Metro Atlanta man behind bars, charged with three rapes, could be responsible for many more.

Authorities say Dallas, GA native Calvin Gene met his victims on the adult section of Craigslist. Lt. Bruce Ferguson with Douglas County's Sheriff's Department says at least two of Gene's alleged victims were soliciting sex online.

"We're talking about escort services, and it's illegal, but like I said we have bigger fish to fry," Ferguson said. "He sets up these meetings and when he gets there, he's actually robbing and raping them."

Gene is accused of raping three women back in September, one in Douglasville, two in Dekalb County. Ferguson says Gene's approach, "was just to go up knock on the door. Girls would open the door, and he would rush in at gunpoint, make them go to the bedroom, take off their clothes and rape them and then when he was leaving, he would take their money and cell phones."

Ferguson says Gene worked for a trucking company covering the entire East Coast. That's why they want to get the word out.

"He's probably going to be a serial rapist," Ferguson said. "He did two in a 12-hour period, so I don't think this is his first rodeo. We need to make sure if they were raped or robbed, they need to give us a call."
