DeKalb Election Director earns top certification | News

DEKALB COUNTY -- H. Maxine Daniels will be designated as a Certified Elections/Registration Administrator (CERA) at a ceremony on Friday at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel in Boston.
According to DeKalb County, CERA is the highest professionl achievement for election officials, acheived only through a multi-year course of study by The Election Center's Professional Education Program and twelve courses taught by the Master of Public Administration faculty at Auburn University in Alabama.
DeKalb County CEO Burrell Ellis said, "Maxine Daniels regularly goes above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the highest degree of professionalism and efficiency in the operation of DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections."
Daniels has been an elections official for 10 years, and a DeKalb County resident for 25 years. She was hired in the Voter Registration and Elections Department in 2001.
"It is my great honor to ensure that the public's will is accurately reflected in our elections," Daniels said. "My role is to dignify all potential voters and to remove as many barriers as possible to participation in the democratic process."
