Local workshop to provide foreclosure relief

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -- DeKalb County CEO Burrell Ellis has announced a DeKalb County Foreclosure Prevention and Intervention Workshop will take place on Satuday, August 18.

The workshop will be at Greater Travelers Rest Baptist Church in Decatur, and run from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

According to Ellis, there will be opportunities for homeowners facing foreclosure or having difficulty making monthly mortgage payments to meet with mortgage companies and housing counseling agencies.

Resources will be provided to help those struggling with foreclosure.

Homeowners seeking assistance must bring IRS Form 4506T-EZ and/or last two years of tax returns; a monthly mortgage statement; two most recent pay stubs for all household members contributing toward mortgage payment; most recent quarterly or year-to-date Profit and Loss Statement, if self employed; documentation of income from other sources; two most recent bank statements; a utility bill showing homeowner's name and property address; and unemployment insurance letter, if applicable.
