ATLANTA -- There are tons of fun events going on this weekend, in your area. We’ve listed a few of them for you to check out with your family and friends.

Check out the weekly Food Truck event at Atlantic Station on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. During this week, five or more local food truck vendors gather on 17th Street in Atlanta and they offer a variety of dining selections.

Gear up your taste buds for the beginning of Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week, which starts this weekend. This event showcases participating Downtown Atlanta restaurants with special dining promotions of three-course dinners for $25 and $35 per person, plus tip and tax.

The NBA and Sprite are holding a special dunk contest at the Atlanta Jazz Festival at Piedmont Park on Saturday, May 28. The event will be judged by Darryl Dawkins and Hall-of-Famer Dominique Wilkins.

Come out to the Westside 3rd Saturday Art Walk on May 21 from 11-5 p.m. The Art Walk is anchored at the White Provision Residential Building on Howell Mill. This event features an open house for a new Poem88 location, a film screening for “Marwencol”, and Artist Talk, Coffee Tasting, a reception and the unveiling of a couple of new exhibits. Check them out. The White Provision Residential Building is located at 1100 Howell Mill Road in Atlanta.

The locally owned Natural Products and Green Living Expo, the Alive! Expo is back and it’s being held this weekend at the Georgia World Congress Center. This is the first and longest-running natural products expo, of its kind in Atlanta. The event features healthy cooking demos and interactive fitness demonstrations.

'Be a fan': Special Olympics Georgia State Summer Games this weekend

EMORY, Ga. -- Special Olympics of Georgia (SOGA) will host its annual State Summer Games for more than 2,000 athletes and coaches this weekend at Emory University.

Athletes will compete in aquatic events, flag football, soccer, badminton, volleyball, tennis, gymnastics and more, with medals awarded throughout the events.

"It is great to see the athletes have the perfect opportunity to shine at Summer Games," said SOGA CEO Georgia Milton-Sheats. "The athletes have worked very hard leading up to this weekend and will be so excited."

A Law Enforcement Torch Run press conference will be held at the State Capitol at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 20.

DECATUR, Ga. -- As Georgia First Lady Sandra Deal continues her "Read Across Georgia" tour, she will make a stop in Decatur to launch a contest that will help one lucky parent pay for his or her child's college education.

Together with the Georgia Public Library Service and Georgia's Path2College 529 Plan, Mrs. Deal will introduce the Destination College Savings Sweepstakes at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 12 at the Toco Hill-Avis G.

Every year, volunteers set up chairs on Emory University's quad to prepare for commencement.  This year, I put together a time-lapse video of 90 volunteers setting up 14,000 chairs.  It took three hours to do it, and you can watch it all in one minute.
