ATLANTA (AP) - Emory University is set to host the 12th annual Latino Youth Leadership conference.

The event, organized by the Latin American Associations, is designed to encourage Latino middle and high school students to explore the options available to them for higher education. It's set to run from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

More than 1,000 Latino students from grades 6 to 12 are expected to participate. The event is also set to include sessions for parents to help them navigate the U.S. educational system, educational opportunities for their children, and ongoing efforts to stop bullying and prevent gang activity.
