Get Your Tickets for 2011 OLPA Gala “Dream in Green” Benefit

DRUID HILLS – Hurry up and get your tickets for the 2011 OLPA Gala “Dream in Green” Benefit, proceeds go to Olmsted Linear Park. This event will be held at Fernbark Natural History Museum on March 6th from 7-10 p.m.

This event will feature a live and silent auction, live jazz, signature cocktails and heavy hors d’oeuvres. About 350 community members are anticipated from influential Atlanta intown neighborhoods.

The Olmsted Linear Park Gala is celebrating completion of the restoration of the historic Olmsted Linear Park along Ponce de Leon Avenue. Join your neighbors and friends at this “Dream in Green” evening of live music and fabulous food and specialty.

Fulton County Free Saturday at The High

 

ATLANTA -- Admission is free for Fulton County residents with I.D. on the first Saturday of each month. Students attending college or university in Fulton Country will also be admitted free with a valid college ID.

Fulton Free Saturdays are sponsored by the Fulton County Arts Council. Major funding for this organization is provided by the Fulton County Commissioners under the guidance of the Fulton County Arts Council. Admission includes special exhibitions and permanent collection.

Jim Durrett To Address The Underwood Hills Neighborhood Association

ATLANTA– Buckhead Community Improvement District (BCID) Executive Director and MARTA Chairman, Jim Durrett, will address the Underwood Hills Neighborhood Association at its membership meeting on Tuesday, March 1st. 

Durrett will provide an update on BCID projects and discuss local traffic mobility and mass transit issues. The meeting will begin promptly at 7 p.m., with opening remarks starting at 7:30 at the Atlanta Brewing Company which is located at 2323 Defoor Hills Road, Northwest in Atlanta.

DeKalb County Police Department Central Records Office has new hours

TUCKER – The DeKalb County Police Department Central Records Office operation hours are being revised.  Beginning March 7, 2011 the general public will be able to pick up reports during the following days and time:

  •  Monday - Thursday:  9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. - 5:00p.m.  (Closed daily from 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.)

Wilbert Burial Vaults Of Georgia Presents $5,000 Grant To Children's Healthcare Of Atlanta

ATLANTA -- The Wilbert Foundation and Wilbert Burial Vaults of Georgia have awarded a $5,000 grant to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. The check was presented on February 2 by representatives of Wilbert Burial Vaults of Georgia (Atlanta, Tucker & Macon), Bailey Monument and Vault (Waycross), Columbus Wilbert (Columbus), DePue Wilbert (Savannah), and Mastergrave Services (Bogart).

The children's hospital will use the funds to provide an annual memorial service at three Georgia facilities. The grant will also assist the purchase of special books, packets, and pamphlets that help siblings understand grief and loss.
