Children of Conservation Announces "Eats & Beats" Event at Buckhead Theatre on May 7

On Monday, May 7, Children of Conservation will host Eats & Beats, a fundraising event featuring 25 of Atlanta’s top restaurants and four fantastic chef bands, to kick off the season for Dinner & A Cause Cards. Dinner & A Case Cards give guests a 20 percent discount at participating Atlanta restaurants for an entire month.

Eats & Beats will take place at The Buckhead Theater (located at 3110 Roswell Road) from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and all proceeds from the event as well as the sales from Dinner & A Cause cards directly benefit Children of Conservation, which is a 501C3 dedicated to the conservation and protection of endangered animals in third world countries through education, habitat preservation and wildlife sanctuary support. Children of Conservation projects are designed not only to help the animals, but also to benefit the local people working tirelessly to protect these creatures, preserve their habitat, and end the devastating bushmeat trade. As a result, the organization also provides educational scholarships for children of wildlife sanctuary workers in Africa.

“Without the scholarships, most of these children wouldn’t be able to go to school past the 2nd grade,” says Michele Stumpe, founder of Children of Conservation. “Under our program, the children are guaranteed funding through graduation as long as they maintain their grades.”

Mixologist Greg Best of Holeman & Finch Public House will emcee Eats & Beats, and the featured chef bands that will be performing during this event were formed by the chefs of JCT. Kitchen & Bar, Local Three, Kaleidoscope and Joe Truex of Watershed.

Some of the participating restaurants that will provide food for the event include:
