KENNESAW, Ga. -- The nominees for the 2012 Georgia Author of the Year Awards have been announced.
More than 100 authors have been nominated in 12 categories, including Short Stories, which is a new addition in 2012.
Three local writers will face off to take home the top prize in the Biography category:
Jonathan W. Jordan
Brothers Rivals Victors: Eisenhower, Patton, Bradley, and the Partnership that Drove the Allied Conquest in Europe
Jordan, an attorney who lives with his family in Marietta, is a World War II enthusiast. According to his website, he is currently working on a book about President Roosevelt's high command during the war.
