Stogner Confirmed as Chief Operating Officer | Community Spirit
Tuesday, the DeKalb County Board of Commissioners voted to confirm Richard Stogner as Executive Assistant and Chief Operating Officer. Stogner was nominated by Chief Executive Officer Burrell Ellis.
Mr. Stogner’s appointment is for an initial term of one-year. He has asked not to receive compensation for his services during his term in office.
“Mr. Stogner has had a long and distinguished career in public service and is well-known and recognized as a top-notch public administrator. He has served in top posts in the administrations of Atlanta Mayor Maynard Jackson and Andy Young as well as the Deputy Chief Financial Officer for the 1996 Olympic Games,” said CEO Ellis. “In addition to overseeing day-to-day operations, Mr. Stogner will focus on developing recommendations for filling current administrative vacancies, preparing the 2011 budget and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of county operations throughout DeKalb.”
