“A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols” at Glenn Auditorium, December 3rd

‘Tis the season for the Emory University Chorus. An Atlanta tradition since 1935, “A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols” will be held December 3 (8 p.m.) and December 4 (4 p.m. & 8 p.m.) at Emory’s Glenn Auditorium. Based on the traditional Christmas service at King’s College Chapel in Cambridge, England, the program is performed by the Emory University Chorus and Concert Choir under the direction of Dr. Eric Nelson.

The candlelit service begins with the Bidding Prayer, followed by readings of nine lessons from the Old and New Testaments leading to the birth of Christ. Between readings, the University Chorus and Concert Choir perform carols and hymns.

This concert will be held in Emory’s Glenn Auditorium which is located at 1652 North Decatur Rd., Atlanta. Tickets for this event are $15 and $12 for discount category members; Emory students will be admitted for $5.
